Hi! I'm Joanna but everyone calls me Jo. It's been four year now since I realized that, despite my degree in hospitality, my true passion is caring for animals and, as they say, once you find your path doors will open. Well, let me tell you: the doors to the homes of the wonderful people and their pets I've met literally FLEW open!

Growing up, my family always had pets: dogs, cats, rabbits, fish—something my siblings and I have carried on into adulthood. My dogs and cats became my family: Kaleb, my beloved little yorkie; Oso, the floofiest, best rock-loving curly haired rottweiler; Pinot and Zin, my world traveling cats; and Niña, my Costa Rican street dog. Nowadays it's just me and Nina, who happily stays with my parents on Worton Creek when I'm with clients.

How did I get into pet sitting? It started with my sister needing help with her menagerie of dogs (including an extremely protective Anatolian Shepherd, two very beagle-y beagles, and a special needs Chow mix), cats, chickens, and Alan: the very intimidating attack rooster. Since big Curtis liked me (he doesn't trust most people) and special needs Ted did not faze me, she asked if I could go down to NC and watch the crew while she and her family went on vacation. I became her regular sitter until she suggested I go on Rover and start pet sitting locally. What started as walks here and there has become a large network of clients in Chestertown. I'm so lucky-I get to love on animals all day long as a JOB.

I love your pets, period. We are all God's creatures and they are the very best in all of us (yes, even the difficult ones). By now I've experienced most breeds and their temperaments (especially beagles! I work with so many beagles).
